(Honolulu) Hayden Buckley eagled on the first and last holes of the second nine on Saturday, shooting 64 to grab a two-shot lead at the Sony Open.
Buckley scored from 133 yards on 10e hole. On the last hole of the day, he lodged his approach shot two feet from the cup, on a par 5.
He sits at 195, which is 15 under par.
Buckley is among nine players in the top 15 on the board who are yet to relish a PGA victory.
At some point in the third round, there were eight golfers tied for the lead.
Buckley has a two-stroke lead over Chris Kirk (68), Ben Taylor (65) and David Lipsky (66).
Kirk double-bogeyed on his first hole.
British Columbian Nick Taylor came within five strokes of the lead with a superb 62, including nine birdies.
Andrew Putnam scored the same; he and Si Woo Kim (64) are three shots off the top.
Other Canadians at the tournament are Corey Conners, 32e after a 68, and Adam Svensson, 51e after a 67.
