Omnium Farmers Insurance | Max Homa comes from behind and wins by two shots

(San Diego) Max Homa came from behind to win the Farmers Insurance Open by two strokes on Saturday.

Homa erased a five-stroke deficit to eventually edge Keegan Bradley atop the standings at Torrey Pines. He also took advantage of the rout of Jon Rahm, who missed an opportunity to claim a third title in a row and regain the world No.

Homa edged out Sam Ryder, who was trying to win the tournament after leading from start to finish, and held off Bradley and Collin Morikawa for a sixth career PGA Tour win.

Homa turned in a 66 (under-6) and won the tournament with an aggregate score of under-13. He scored a birdie at 18e hole to distance themselves in the standings.

Bradley also shot 66 to take second place on his own. Morikawa completed the course in 69 strokes and finished the event in third position.

Ryder shot 75 and had his worst round of the week. The American had to settle for a fourth-tier tie with Sahith Theegala (70) and Sungjae Im (70) at 9 under.

Rahm had a 74 card, his worst of the week, and tied for seventh with Jason Day (68), who was going for a third career win at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Canadians Adam Hadwin and Taylor Pendrith also struggled in the final round. Hadwin played 76 to tie in 44e position as Pendrith turned over a 77 card to drop to a tie in 60e square.
