List entered the final round five shots behind the leaders, Zalatoris and Jason Day, and had to wait almost two hours after turning in his 66 (-6) card to get the verdict. List began his career in 2013.

Zalatoris missed his chance to get his hands on his first career victory when he missed an eight-foot putt at the 18and hole, which forced extra time.

Following List’s birdie in overtime, Zalatoris missed his 13-foot putt, which confirmed his rival’s victory.

Zalatoris and List completed the regulation 72 holes with a combined score of minus-15. Zalatoris turned in a 71 on Saturday and finished with 12 consecutive pars.

Zalatoris, last year’s rookie of the year and runner-up at the Masters Tournament, is likely to blame himself for his 18and pennant, which seemed acquired.

Jon Rahm, Day and Cameron Tringale all finished 14 under behind the two leaders. Justin Rose is part of a group of five golfers who are two strokes behind List and Zalatoris.

Canadian Taylor Pendrith grabbed 16and rank and finished four shots behind the leaders (minus-11). Fellow Canadian Nick Taylor finished in 30and position, by virtue of a cumulative score of minus-8.
