Omar Raddad case: towards a legal twist?

What if the key to the Raddad mystery had been forgotten on the shelves of the Grasse courthouse (Alpes-Maritimes) for twenty years? A secret investigation into a small bar in Cagnes-sur-Mer, to which Ghislaine Marchal, the victim, had her habits, was carried out. At its head, two figures of Nice banditry, who could be involved in the murder of the sexagenarian. In September 2002, a woman told the gendarmes of Nice that Ghislaine Marchal was a regular at the bar in question, to the point of being familiar with the bosses. She claims that they are the ones who organized the burglary at the victim’s home.

According to Jean-Michel Décugis, journalist and co-author of a book on the case, the informant said to have “seen arriving, in particular Marcel B. covered in blood, the very day of the murder of Ghislaine Marchal.“The gendarmes believe the informant to be reliable, but had not been authorized by the prosecutor to continue their investigation two years after the start of it.”Perhaps that could have cleared him or brought elements that confirmed the statements of Omar Raddad“, says one of the gendarmes. He wonders why his investigation has remained secret. The two suspects have since died, but Omar Raddad’s lawyer is asking for expertise.
