It’s not the European Cup they wanted to play in, but the Europa League could give them a breath of fresh air. Stuck in an internal crisis which caused the departure of their coach Marcelino and the withdrawal of their president Pablo Longoria, the Marseillais move onto the pitch of Ajax Amsterdam with the desire to rely on the field to put torment aside, at least for one evening, Thursday September 21.

Eliminated in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, the Phocaeans can still expect good performances in C3, with this first match against Ajax Amsterdam, then upcoming matches against Brighton and AEK Athens in group B. With a transfer window aimed at shining on the European scene, OM, finalist in the competition in 2018, hopes to get off to a good start in the Netherlands to aim high.
