Olympique de Marseille has made Italian coach Roberto de Zerbi a priority to succeed Jean-Louis Gasset, the sports management of radio France learned on Thursday June 13, confirming information from RMC. Discussions have begun and an agreement is hoped for in the coming hours, on a contract lasting three seasons.

The Brighton coach was not originally in the papers of the Olympian club. The track is judged “unattainable”, estimates a source close to the matter. But Roberto De Zerbi has expressed his desire to work with Marseille. The 45-year-old technician is under contract with the English club until 2026.

The trail leading to the Portuguese Sergio Conceição seems to have finally been abandoned by the OM authorities. The club has been talking with the former FC Porto coach for several weeks. But due to the lack of an agreement reached quickly, the Marseille leaders preferred to opt for Roberto De Zerbi.
