Monkey expressions and at least one Nazi salute addressed to the Marseille public were filmed on Sunday evening in the visitors’ parking lot of the Vélodrome stadium.

Olympique Lyonnais condemned, Monday October 30, “unacceptable racist behavior” observed among club supporters, Sunday evening, in the visitor stands of the Vélodrome stadium, in Marseille. “The club requested the videos to identify the perpetrators of any act contrary to the law”he wrote on the X platform, affirming his desire to“remove” these individuals from the stands.
Several videos posted on social networks show Lyon supporters, dressed in black, challenging the Marseille public from their park. Some waved their arms in gestures appearing to mimic monkeys scratching their heads or armpits. At least one Nazi salute was filmed, while French flags were waved in response to Palestinian flags displayed by Marseille spectators.
According to the site StreetPressa neo-Nazi hooligan group called Mezza Lyon was present in the Lyon parking lot. “The latter were banned under the presidency of Jean-Michel Aulas”recalls RMC Sport. “They are present again during some away matches.”
Questioned about these images, the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, deplored, Monday, on France 2, “racist signs” who embody “what we don’t want to see” in stadiums in France. The Professional Football League has indicated that the actions observed will be studied by the disciplinary committee on the basis of the reports sent to it, according to The Parisian.
