On the evening of Friday May 26, Marseille plunged back into history. All night long, Olympique de Marseille supporters celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of their club’s victory in the European Cup.

It is 11 p.m., the bells of the “Bonne Mère” are ringing. Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône) is ablaze with the same fervor as 30 years ago, with 8,000 smoke bombs over 20 km of coastline. From the afternoon of Friday May 26, 5,000 supporters gathered in front of the Town Hall to honor the one who scored the winning goal on May 26, 1993, Basile Boli. An emotion transmitted to young supporters who could not experience the event.

The fans replay the game

A giant screen has been erected to relive or discover the historic match which saw Olympique de Marseille triumph over AC Milan. The joy explodes at the moment of the victorious goal. The same madness as 30 years ago. At the time, the most fervent supporters had plunged two nights into the Old Port, certain to live a moment that will be remembered.
