Olympique de Marseille appeals the decision of the disciplinary committee

Olympique de Marseille is contesting the decision of the disciplinary committee. After incidents during the match against Lyon at Groupama Stadium on November 21, the committee sanctioned OL by one point less in the Ligue 1 standings and the match to be replayed behind closed doors at Groupama Stadium.

This sanction is much too low according to Olympique de Marseille, which notably claimed a victory on the green carpet. Marseille is therefore appealing this decision to the French Football Federation, deemed to be more severe than the LFP and who will have to fully review the case before making a decision.

“It is a risky decision and deeply disappointing, even humiliating for the players” according to Jacques Cardoze, communications director of Olympique de Marseille, who also castigated the absence of convocation of any representative of the Marseille club during the Disciplinary Commission, criticizing a “parody of justice.”
