We’ll have to be patient before we find out who the medallists will be in the surfing events at the 2024 Paris Games. The surfers will not be taking to the boards this weekend at Teahupo’o due to the swell being too weak, the organizers announced on Saturday, August 3. The final stages – in which two Frenchmen are still involved, Kauli Vaast and Johanne Defay – will take place on Monday, August 5, starting at 7 p.m. Paris time, weather permitting.

Paris 2024 – Surfing: Johanne Defay gets the better of the reigning Olympic champion

It remains four semi-finals, the two small finals for the bronze medal as well as the two finals for women and men to be played. Initially, the competition was supposed to stop on Sunday, but the organization had kept one day of emergency just in case. Kauli Vaast will face the Peruvian Alonso Correa. For Johanne Defay, who beat the reigning Olympic champion in the quarter-finals, it will be the reigning world champion Caroline Marks.
