(Saskatoon) Brad Gushue edged Brad Jacobs 7-6 in the extra end to remain undefeated at the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials on Tuesday.
Gushue is alone in first place with a 4-0 record.
Jacobs won three games and suffered one loss in the round robin.
John Epping beat Matt Dunstone 9-7 and Brendan Bottcher claimed his first victory, 10-2 over Mike McEwen, who is now tied with Kevin Koe for third.
Jason Gunnlaugson dominated Tanner Horgan 11-6.
After eight rounds Epping is 2-2, Gunnlaugson and Horgan are 1-2, Bottcher is 1-3 and Dunstone is 0-4.
On the women’s side, a round robin is scheduled for Tuesday night, including a match between Jennifer Jones (4-0) and Kerri Einarson (2-2).
The winners of Sunday’s finals will represent Canada at the Olympic Winter Games February 4-20 in Beijing.
