“It’s quite unbelievably cynical.” The boss of the deputies Les Républicains (LR), Olivier Marleix, denounced, Wednesday, May 31, the “cynicism” of Emmanuel Macron after his reframing of Elisabeth Borne on his remarks presenting the National Rally (RN) as the “heir of Pétain”. During the Council of Ministers on Tuesday May 30, Emmanuel Macron replied to his Prime Minister that the far right should not be fought “by moral arguments” according to participants.
This cropping “is quite unwelcome on the part of the p resident of the Republic who was nevertheless elected and re-elected by calling on the French to block the far right”estimated Olivier Marleix on Public Senate. “Without this demonization, he would not be President of the Republic”he assured, recalling that Emmanuel Macron was elected in the second round in 2017 and 2022 against Marine Le Pen, with the support of voters who wanted to prevent the RN from accessing the Élysée. “He demonized and now he wants to trivialize us”he pointed.
