Olivier Létang denounces the “unacceptable behavior” of his striker Mohamed Bayo

He has just committed to LOSC for four years and here he is already dismissed for disciplinary reasons. Mohamed Bayo does not appear this Sunday evening in the Lille group during the reception of PSG in the third day of Ligue 1, a match to follow live and in full on France Bleu Nord. Before kick-off, the Lille president reacted on Prime Video about this dismissal.

“It takes strong discipline” to perform

“It’s a lack of respect for the club, its partners, the technical staff and also our supporters. […] Unacceptable behavior!” explained Olivier Létang. This Saturday evening, on the eve of the match, Mohamed Bayo allowed himself an outing to a bar in Lille. Several photos of this nocturnal trip have been posted on social networks by Dogues supporters. The player posted a tweet before deleting it.

The president of LOSC wanted to set an example : “The most important thing is that a club is strong: a strong club is about values. If you have to perform, you need strong discipline.” Mohamed Bayo arrives from Clermont, where his former coach, Claude Robin, then declared that the player will have to pay attention to his hygiene.

“Anyone can make one mistake, not two!”

The attacker was sentenced to 2 months suspended prison sentence last April for drink-driving and unintentional injury. In October 2021 he had hitched a car before fleeing. “You have to give him time, he changes his universe after having been in Dunkirk and Clermont, we knew that we had to give him time. When Jonathan David arrived at LOSC, it took him five months to perform.” Olivier Létang confirmed that discussions will begin on Monday morning internally. “As I always say, anyone can make one mistake, not two!”
