Olivier Giroud made his departure from AC Milan official on Monday May 13 at the end of the current season, via a video published on the club’s social networks. The French international also announced that he would continue his career in the North American Championship (MLS), starting next season.
“The next two games will be my last with AC Milan. My career will continue in MLS”, declared Olivier Giroud without specifying the name of his new team. He will play next year at Los Angeles FC, the Radio France sports department learned from the player’s entourage on April 23, confirming information from RMC. The 37-year-old former Arsenal Gunners striker will join his former teammate in the French team jersey, Hugo Lloris. He is committed until December 2025.
During his three-season transalpine stay, the man nicknamed “Oli” by Milanese fans scored 48 goals and provided 20 assists in 130 appearances in all competitions. In particular, he helped the Rossoneri to conquer their 19th Italian champion title in 2021-2022, eleven years after the previous one. “My story with Milan ends this year, but Milan will always be in my heart”concluded the Tours-trained striker with emotion.
