“It’s time to get out of this political Cluedo to find out who killed the Nupes”. Olivier Faure, wrote these words, in a letter sent Monday October 2, to the other leaders of the left-wing parties. The first secretary of the Socialist Party (PS) invites them to a “quick meeting” to end the “common list serial” within Nupes with a view to the next European elections in June 2024.

Olivier Faure notes his choice of “the way” of “the bill”, i.e. an autonomous list presented to the European ballot. If the activists of the Socialist Party must still vote on Thursday to enact this principle, the PCF and EELV have already opted in this direction. La France insoumise is the only party to still demand the union of the Nupes for this election.

“We expressed our availability for a debate, projects against projects” regretted Olivier Faure in his letter. “This exchange will not take place due to a lack of fighters. We take note of this”. At the time his letter was sent, the first secretary of the PS was attending a meeting with Manuel Bompard, the coordinator of La France insoumise, with the young people of Nupes, in order to debate the union of the left in the European elections.
