Monday April 15, a new vaccination campaign against Covid-19 begins in France. It is intended for people over 80, immunocompromised patients, residents of nursing homes and individuals deemed to be at very high risk by their medical team. However, anyone wishing to make a reminder is accepted.
Why launch a new vaccination campaign? “Because the oldest people, over 75-80 years old, immunocompromised people, are still the main victims of Covid”explains Professor Anne-Claude Crémieux, infectious disease specialist and member of the college of the High Authority of Health.
Deaths which “mainly concern the oldest people”
“There were 33 000 hospitalizations during the winter of 2023, and more than 75% of people hospitalized were people over 75 years old. Same thing for deaths.
