Old vines and original cuvées at the Saladin estate in Saint-Marcel-d’Ardèche

Among the Saladins, the notion of family farm takes on its full meaning. The sisters Marie-Laurence and Elisabeth joined their father Louis twenty years ago, and took over from him. They have created their own cuvées, and perpetuated a centuries-old tradition. Orders are still dispatched in the small garage of the family home where Annick, the mother, still regularly prepares a good dish so that her daughters can take energy in their busy days.

One of the sisters’ projects, “les saladines” as they call themselves, is to share the genetic diversity of vine plants from an old plot, at a time when the vast majority of winegrowers use generic clones.
