In Germany, the Chancellor Olaf Scholz is under fire from critics. The Germans find out: with his €200 billion aid package for Germany, Olaf Scholz is not welcome in Prague (Czech Republic). The other countries which cannot line up such sums protest and accuse him of selfishness. To make matters worse, the Chancellor refuses the establishment of a ceiling price for gas.
In Belgium, some are turning to coal. Nothing better than this one for heating at a lower cost. A family did the math: barely ten euros a day in winter. “It’s still a different price than gas and it allows us to have a gentle warmth”says Jean Biemaruser of a coal stove.
In the United Kingdom, the government wants to relaunch oil drilling in the North Sea. More than 900 sites are to be explored and a hundred operating licenses at stake. The executive is counting on an oil industry near its coasts.
