(Las Vegas) The body of former football star and controversial public figure OJ Simpson was cremated Wednesday, the lawyer handling his estate announced following his death at his Las Vegas home last week. last at the age of 76.
Attorney Malcolm LaVergne told The Associated Press that he attended his cremation with other relatives in the morning at Palm Mortuary in downtown Las Vegas.

LaVergne is handling Simpson’s estate in Nevada state court. He mentioned that Simpson’s ashes were given to Simpson’s children “to dispose of as they wish, respecting their late father’s final wishes.”
No public ceremony is planned, he said.
Simpson died April 10 after being diagnosed with prostate cancer last year.
