His Ontario Junior League team, the Ottawa 67’s, said Thursday morning that he had undergone several medical examinations that convinced specialists to discharge him from hospital. “He is in a good state of mind and is resting at home,” added the 67’s, specifying that the 18-year-old Austrian player will be sidelined from competition for an indefinite period.
Rohrer fell hard trying to avoid a body check by Thomas Budnick of the Kingston Frontenacs in the first period of Wednesday’s game. Hit in the hip, he fell awkwardly, his neck and head taking the shock. He immediately left the scene on a stretcher.
The Habs’ third-round pick, 75th overall, in the 2022 draft has 12 goals and 22 assists for 34 points in 28 games this season.
