The open letter from OGC Nice to its supporters

WE, OGC NICE

We vibrated, wept, Saturday night. By tens of thousands, at the Stade de France and on Place Massena.

But first, we all colored the city together in red and black. We dreamed, converted our next door neighbor, our friend at the other end of the earth. We only talked about this final for days and days. We projected ourselves. We played. We lost.

We also saw the ghost of 2006 reappear, with its share of tears, anger and grief. With one notable difference: at the time, the Club was not cut out to be at the very top, and had missed the opportunity without being able to convince itself that its destiny was in motion and that it would inevitably invite itself again. at the party. Sixteen years later, the foundations are solid, the project ambitious: at the end of a superb course, this Coupe de France would have arrived as a marker of its progress, as the reward for the work accomplished and no longer as an outcome. The work was not rewarded. Not at the moment. Not this way. But tomorrow’s victories are (also) born out of yesterday’s defeats.

Let’s be honest: we all had a bad Sunday. A Sunday without sleep, without appetite, without desire. A Sunday with nothing. It’s time to get back into battle. To get up, to move on. The season is not over and we can still open the doors of Europe, through the championship. A chimerical Europe for nearly 20 years in Nice, which has become very real over the last decade and within our reach today, provided the momentum of the season does not break.

All the components of OGC Nice would like to thank from the bottom of their hearts all those who participated in this adventure in the Coupe de France. And who will still walk with us on the paths of tomorrow.

The end of the season is exciting. The future too.

We, OGC Nice, will get up. For you and thanks to you
