OGC Nice – FC Nantes: the young Antoine Mendy retained in an enlarged group

After the “false group” unveiled last weekend before the trip to Brest, which included three players positive for the Covid, we will remain cautious about the precise contours of the workforce which will face Nantes on Friday at the Allianz Riviera. 22 Eaglets are selected, among which we find the three players infected last week. Jordan Amavi, Melvin Bard and Calvin Stengs are in attendance. But the presence of the very young defender Antoine Mendy (17 years old) in the group leaves the uncertainty on the state of form of the two left side.

Mendy held back as a precaution?

Bard and Amavi resumed individualized training this week, away from the group as a precaution. Not ideal for rediscovering sensations, especially for Amavi, who remains on an almost blank first part of the season with OM. Training side, Antoine Mendy can therefore be a recourse while Lotomba and Daniliuc occupied the corridors in Brittany. Antoine Mendy had already been selected once in the red and black group at the end of last season for the match against Brest (3-2).

Schneiderlin suspended

Among the names missing, Morgan Schneiderlin is serving his suspension match after his red card received in Brest. Atal and Lemina are still engaged in CAN with Algeria and Gabon. And the Brazilian Robson Bambu is about to start.
