(Laval) The 60-year-old who was fighting for his life after swerving with his vehicle very early Saturday morning in Laval succumbed to his injuries.

It was a call to 911 shortly after 4:30 a.m. that notified the emergency services of the road trip that had just occurred on Highway 440 East, at the height of the Saint-François overpass.
“According to initial information, the driver would have lost control of his vehicle following a malaise. He would have ended his journey in the low wall of the central reservation, ”said Sergeant Catherine Bernard, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The man, who was alone in his vehicle, was transported to the hospital, where his condition was then considered critical.
“A police officer in collision investigation moved to the scene to find out the causes and circumstances surrounding this event,” said Sergeant Bernard.
This section of Highway 440 East was closed to traffic until around 7:30 a.m. precisely to allow the police to do their job.
The SQ investigation is continuing.
