Off Newfoundland | A submarine visiting the wreck of the missing Titanic





(Halifax) A search is underway Monday off the island of Newfoundland to locate a research submarine that has been missing since Sunday evening near the wreck site of the titanic.




The Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Halifax says a search submarine was reported missing at 9:13 p.m. Sunday evening, about 700 km south of St. John’s.

Lieutenant Commander Len Hickey added that an Air Force Aurora aircraft and the Canadian Coast Guard ship Kopit–Hopson were taking part in search operations, led by the US Coast Guard in Boston.
