For several months, anger has been brewing among liberal doctors, who are demanding in particular the upgrading of consultations. Some have decided to no longer accept the Vitale card, thus allowing them to impose their own rates.

More and more of them would no longer accept the Vitale card. General practitioners decide to change their approach. This practice allows them to impose their own prices and prevents patients from getting reimbursed. This decision comes in a tense context for the profession. For several months, anger has been brewing among liberal doctors, engaged in a standoff with Health Insurance. They ask in particular for the revaluation of consultations.

A revaluation deemed insufficient

“To follow 1,000 to 1,500 patients, I earn 3,500 euros per month, as a doctor alone. If I hire a full-time assistant, I will have 1,500 euros left. This is not economically viable”, confides a general practitioner. At the beginning of November, they were granted an increase of 1.50 euros per consultation. An increase deemed insufficient for health professionals.
