After the arrival of the Ocean Viking on Friday November 11, in Toulon, Théo Souman takes stock of the situation.

Friday, November 11, theOcean Viking landed in Toulon, with 234 migrants on board. From Saturday 12 November, theOFPRA will conduct individual interviews with all the people who were present on the ship. After these interactions, “Some migrants could be sent back to their country of origin. For the others, those who meet the criteria, they will be entitled to leave this waiting area”, described Theo Souman.

Migrants who receive approval from the authorities will then have to stay in the south before some leave for other countries.For two thirds of them, it will then be necessary to leave for Germany or one of the eight other countries in Europe volunteering to welcome them.reveals journalist Théo Souman. “Finally, concerning the 44 other unaccompanied minors who were present on the boat, they should be taken care of by the child welfare services in the Var department”concludes the journalist.
