“Ocean Honey Violence,” Karma Glider

Elegant and frenetic, Karma Glider’s new EP is both. One year later Future Fictionthe Montreal group continues, with its latest release, to offer catchy and chaotic rock, focusing on a perhaps more contemplative and soaring facet that we associate with shoegaze and neo-psychedelic sounds. The twenty-minute set plunges us into a real sensory journey that makes us explore both the tumult and the calm inherent in Karma Glider’s music. Ocean Honey Violence : we could not find better words to describe the album, words to which we could however attach the adjectives “electronic”, “melancholic” and “poetic”. The adventure thus begins with a very interesting introduction partly generated by artificial intelligence, Backand continues with catchy melodies — we are thinking especially of the excellent Wave And Sugarcane — before the apotheosis of Submarineeuphorically nostalgic.
