The Quebec Health Federation (FSQ-CSQ), which represents nurses and respiratory therapists, rejects Quebec’s proposal and requests the intervention of a conciliator to reach an agreement.
The federation rejected the sectoral agreement, which concerns the working conditions of its members, and is preparing to return to negotiations. The major irritants concern in particular the improvement of overtime on weekends which does not apply to all employees and the partial reimbursement of professional orders.
To reach an agreement, the FSQ-CSQ requests the intervention of a conciliator, confirmed the communications advisor of the CSQ, Gabriel Danis.
The members of the federation will still be called upon to decide in the coming weeks on the intersectoral agreement, which concerns in particular salaries. “It is really the sectoral aspect on working conditions which was rejected and which will not be presented to the members,” declared Mr. Danis.
The federation represents approximately 5,000 nurses, practical nurses and respiratory therapists from Laval, Gaspésie and the North Shore.
