“Now and Then”, The Beatles

First listen: eyes in the water. And then, in a loop, the song enters. Beatles style. Yes, it basically comes from a piano-vocal demo by Lennon. Yes, it was an unconverted test due to a technological deficit at the time of theAnthology. And yes, now we have an unexpected success. Thanks to Peter Jackson, the magical hobbit, who developed a machine to “extract” sound sources and give John’s voice and George’s guitars their space, as if they were there, with Paul and Ringo . In fact, they are there, in the present. Because the miracle is human, once the cleaning is finished: when they are reunited, these four boys turn into an entity called Beatles, a world in itself, where a song not so transcendent a priori rises to the firmament of celebrated friendship . Now and Then, not intended for that, a love song among others for Yoko Ono, is now the high point of the story, the ending credits which was missing. And we are absolutely unable to get it out of our heads.
