Novak Djokovic will be able to defend his title in the Accor Arena. After a long battle, the Serb took the best of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Saturday, November 5, in the semi-final of the Masters 1000 Paris-Bercy. While he seemed off for a walk in the park, “Nole” had to draw on his resources to dismiss the 5th player in the world, winning in the decisive game of the third set after 2:19 of play (6-2, 3- 6, 7-6 [7-4]). Sunday, against the Dane Holger Rune, he will have the opportunity to win the tournament for the 7th time.

If he will approach the final in the shoes of the ultra-favorite, facing an opponent who had never been further than a 3rd round in Masters 1000, Djokovic will have to learn lessons from his match against Stefanos Tsitsipas. For only the second time this year, the Serb was pushed into a three-set match after gleaning the first set. Above all, he came to lose his temper in the second act.

Tsitsipas managed to come back in an encounter in which he did not exist. When he harangued the public at the start of the second set, the match changed. The debates were balanced and the Greek was able to win the most important points, for example dismissing four break points in the last set. But Djokovic never gave up and, in the decisive game, he was simply the mentally strongest, taking advantage of the mini-break wasted by the Greek to conclude the meeting.
