Novak Djokovic still does not know the name of his future coach

(Belgrade) World No.1 Novak Djokovic, who announced on Wednesday the end of his collaboration with Goran Ivanisevic, declared Thursday that he did not know who his next coach will be or even if he will have one, during a conference of press in Belgrade.

Djokovic has been coached by the 2001 Wimbledon winner since 2018 and has won twelve of his career’s twenty-four Grand Slam titles under his guidance.

“As for the search for a new coach, I don’t have a specific idea and I don’t know if there will be one,” the Serb said. “I have always had coaches by my side since I was young. I try to think about what might be good for me. »

At 36, the Serbian had a mediocre start to the 2024 season by his high standards, losing in the semi-finals of the Australian Open to eventual winner, Italian Jannik Sinner.

He then lost in the third round at Indian Wells against another Italian player, Luca Nardi (96e world), which led him to withdraw from the Miami tournament, to spare himself.

He should make his return next month at the Monte-Carlo tournament (April 7-14), before lining up at Roland-Garros (May 20 to June 9).
