Novak Djokovic on the hunt for records. After equalling Roger Federer’s record for the number of semi-finals at Wimbledon (13), the Serb will try to reach the number of victories the Swiss has won at the London Grand Slam (eight). But before that, the former world number 1 will have to get rid of Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals on Friday, July 12. Back from injury at the start of the tournament, the Serb reached the last four without playing, thanks to the withdrawal of Alex de Minaur, who injured his hip, and was able to save his energy.
For his part, Lorenzo Musetti eliminated Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals in five sets and reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career. The Italian, who had never gone beyond the third round at Wimbledon, is having a brilliant tournament and could well trouble the man with 24 major titles. In their last confrontation, the two players had offered an epic match, which had finished at more than 3 a.m. Novak Djokovic had won in five sets, in 4h28, in the third round of the last Roland-Garros.
