Nothing is spared us

We undergo with a dazzling acceleration the “pornography” of our lives.

Everything is revealed to us through social media, which manages to evade the laws and ignore the most elementary ethics, and this, with the tacit agreement of consumers of all kinds.

Hence the enrichment of billionaires transformed into oversized masters of the technology planet.

We live in a society where crime pays and where the most delusional theories set back the advances of science and trample medicine.

Unequal fight

The law of the strongest, the most cruel and the most powerful of the moment is regressing the humanist philosophy which allowed the West to achieve progress and democracy by imposing a few universal values.

Noble sentiments, respect for the Other, access to education and the notion of equality between the sexes are too often disfigured by an ideological discourse.

Great American universities have become temples of wokism. Traditional media in competition with social networks no longer back down and expose in their pages of content supported by facts delusional theories in terms of sex in particular.

Quebec is no exception. With the craze for drag queens with outrageous make-up, whose activity is trivialized with small children initiated by tales of diversity and gender fluidity, we are blissfully witnessing a form of offensive against women.

Last Wednesday, before the parliamentary committee of the National Assembly studying Bill 12 on the reform of family law, a Liberal MP asked for the complete withdrawal of the expression “a woman who carries the child” to replace it with “a person carrying the child”.

Woman or person?

Fortunately, the Minister of Justice responsible for the file, Simon Jolin-Barrette, asked the National Assembly on Thursday to vote in favor of a motion to impose the word “woman” rather than “person”. What was done unanimously, including the Liberal deputies followers the day before of a rather cloudy diversity, not to say stormy.

In a recent column, I talked about the TVA program, The world upside down, where a surrogate asserted that she was a surrogate and not a surrogate. I had written that I would not be surprised if soon we demanded that we speak of a “carrier”.

Alas, I hardly expected that this attack would be launched a week later by the PLQ in a parliamentary committee.

The mainstream media now feel compelled to lapse into sensationalism. They believe they are unable to compete with social networks where stars without morals and without ethics earn huge incomes allowing them to weaken our shaky democracies as they please.

A growing proportion of citizens no longer have respect either for politicians or for the intellectual and scientific elites. They prefer influencers and autocrats. Is this our sunny future?
