A classic arrival in Paris or a change with an end clap in Nice? “Today, nothing is decided” on the place of arrival of the Tour de France 2024, said, Tuesday June 14, Christian Prudhomme, questioned by AFP. The director of the event thus responded to the rumors of a potential arrival in Nice.
According La Gazzetta dello Sport (in Italian), the 2024 edition of the Grande Boucle would start from Florence and the finish would be judged in Nice on Sunday July 21, less than a week before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris. The Tour de France has concluded since 1975 on the Champs-Elysées, and previously ended at La Cipale, in the Bois de Vincennes.
“The question of the juxtaposition of the Olympic Games and the arrival of the Tour de France in 2024 is not illegitimate. There may be things to study, surely we will even work on it”has explained Christian Prudhomme. This last did not exclude an arrangement with the town hall of Paris.
“We are going to work on it, we have to seriously look at the juxtaposition of events”abounded Anne Hidalgo, emphasizing at the same time that “Paris is the only city” which hosts the Tour de France every year.
