Norway’s far-left leader pinned for stealing Hugo Boss glasses

Norway’s far-left leader and MP Bjørnar Moxnes has been fined for stealing Hugo Boss sunglasses from a shop at Oslo airport in what he says was a simple oversight, Norwegian media reported on Friday.

Police fined 3,000 crowns ($361) on party leader Rødt (“Red” in English), saying he acted deliberately.

Mr Moxnes, 41, says he accepted the fine.

“I left the store with glasses without paying. So, even if it was not intentional, it’s more legit like that, ”he told public radio and television NRK on Friday.

He previously said he forgot he had the glasses on when he left the store at Gardermoen, Oslo’s international airport, on June 16.

According to the report drawn up by the police and of which NRK publishes a copy, the object of the offense was Hugo Boss sunglasses worth 1,199 crowns (about 100 euros).

In his program adopted in 2019, Rødt says he opposes capitalism portrayed as an “unjust”, “undemocratic”, “irrational” system which “leads to crises”.
