A new tension between France and Israel… The ambassador of the Hebrew State was summoned to the Quai d’Orsay in Paris after “deliberate IDF fire” against United Nations forces in southern Lebanon. At the same time, several dozen warning sirens sounded in several localities, particularly in northern Israel, a regular target of Hezbollah strikes.

In the closed military zone in northern Israel, the Israeli army organizes the convoy for a few teams of journalists. The small town of Metoula is a sort of Israeli enclave surrounded by Lebanese territory and is one of the most dangerous places in northern Israel. Metoula was evacuated a year ago. All that remains here is the Israeli army and a few civil defense volunteers.

There were 1,700 inhabitants in the enclave before the start of the war. According to local authorities, half of the buildings in Metoula were damaged by Hezbollah strikes. Over the past two weeks, Israel has intensified its operations in Lebanon, notably increasing land incursions. But in northern Israel, sirens sound all the time, scaring away the civilian population.
