Already popular for its landscapes, Northern Ireland could attract new players in the film industry thanks to a new hyper-modern production studio, in which 100 million euros have been invested.
Northern Ireland has already lent its natural settings to major films and series, from the universe Game Of Thrones to blockbusters transformers. She may soon take the next step by creating them virtually. In a production studio that has barely been built, ultra-modern equipment, specialized in virtual reality and special effects, is installed.
Technologies “available nowhere else in the world”
More than 100 million euros have been invested. “This is a new chapter for Northern Ireland, but also for the entire film industry in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This studio will provide access, under one roof, to technologies that are available nowhere else in the world. We have 2,000 people trained in cinema professions here”, explains a man working there. This new studio is expected to create 500 jobs, including some recent graduates.
