(Banner Elk) This is not a geyser, but a damaged water pipe. Several people on the chairlift were injured by the jet, forcing some of them to jump from the lift.

A video circulating among others on TikTok showed skiers and snowboarders being sprayed with water by the damaged pipe.
In a statement, the Beech Mountain Resort center said two people were taken to a hospital for minor injuries.
