On December 14, 2021, three men in their twenties were arrested, and will soon be on trial. Accused of the theft of twenty vehicles, justice wonders if they would not have used drones to locate them.
Could the drone be the burglars’ new accomplice? Several inhabitants of Normandy are asking the question. Near Deauville (Calvados), Jenifer thought she was safe until one morning when she discovered her house with the doors wide open. “I realized that we had been broken into. We realized that we had more car“, she says. The thieves reportedly spotted his car using a drone. A few weeks earlier, she had noticed two people using a drone near her home.
The three men are not at their first attempt. They are suspected of having stolen 24 vehicles, always top-of-the-range, for loot approaching 600,000 euros. Another neighbor also remembers seeing a drone near his house, but he managed to put the thieves to flight. No device was seized after the arrest of the burglars, who will appear on January 14.
