Nolwenn Leroy canceled at the last minute for fear of “lowering the audience”

It’s D-Day. This Saturday, December 16, 2023, TF1 is broadcasting live the most famous beauty contest in France. 30 regional misses are preparing to parade on the stage of the Zénith de Dijon in the hope of winning the crown and being elected Miss France 2024.

A ceremony presented by Jean-Pierre Foucault with the help of his new right-hand woman Cindy Fabre, the new director of the committee… And surprise, this year, Sylvie Tellier is also there, but facing the stage!

The reason ? Miss France 2002 chairs the 100% female jury for this edition. Thus, several inspiring women will be at her side during the candidates’ various performances. Stéfi Celma, Adriana Karembeu, Nolwenn Leroy, Nina Métayer, Estelle Mossely and Élodie Poux will indeed help the former director of the national competition to decide between the 30 misses.

A revenge for Nolwenn Leroy

If Nolwenn Leroy is preparing to chair the jury of the Miss France competition for the first time, this is not the first time that the singer has been contacted to take part in the evening. And for good reason, remember, in 2011 when the competition took place in Brittany (the region where the artist was born), Endemol would have approached the latter so that she could perform on stage… But due to lack of luck for the former academician, the project was ultimately aborted. The reason ? According to information fromWest Franceat the time, the production group would have decided to do without her services, because she did not want to be among the jury.

Revelations that Endemol had commented on by blaming the interpreter of Broken. “We contacted Nolwenn Leroy only to be part of the jury. She wanted to sing. We didn’t want variety shows. This lowered the audience for the show. She refused to come”he replied to our colleagues.
