Noktaki – Jaun Andereak

They are two friends of ikastola, who have always kept the link.
From time to time, they get together, and play music, “just like that”.
Ortzi Oiharzabal has been a violinist with the Basque Country Orchestra for 20 years, Odon Noblia is a teacher, but also an artist, painter, sculptor and writer.
Odon’s poems became songs, the two friends worked on the music and decided to record them, to share them.
This gives us the album “Txiki-Txiki”, self-produced, 14 titles, with the violin which marries the electric guitar, an unusual and very successful union…
The texts are powerful, they evoke life, death, love, nature, the future… (you will find the lyrics HERE).

“Jaun Andereak”, a protest message

Among the songs on the album, Noktaki claims his ancestral culture, his attachment to Basque, the right to perpetuate the Basque identity, the right to respect.
The text recalls the attacks on Gernika, the prohibition of the Basque language, that of waving the Basque flag, the ikurriña, but what emerges from the song is the determination not to let things go, the strength to take their destiny into their own hands.
