Noah’s Ark in Caen

On stage for a score by Britten, the children of the Maitrise de Caen, the musicians of the Orchester Régional de Normandie, directed by Benoît Bénichou, who wanted to completely revisit the story of this Noah’s Ark.

Benoît Bénichou made the choice that Noé does not save animals, because according to him in the current world, there are many other things to save like Flora, Pollution, Wars. It makes it a veritable green odyssey.

As he works with the children of the Maitrise, the director has emphasized the playful side. For example, the gods are not embodied as one might imagine with beards, but the children themselves play them on stage.
