Noah Corson appeals his guilt

Former Drummondville Voltigeurs hockey player Noah Corson will contest his guilty verdict before the Quebec Court of Appeal.

His attorney filed the notice last Friday.

The 25-year-old, the son of former Canadian player Shayne Corson, was found guilty last month of gang raping a 15-year-old girl. The events date back to the fall of 2016 when he was playing with the Voltigeurs.

In his decision, Judge Paul Dunnigan ruled that the accused, who was an adult at the time, “did not take all reasonable measures” to ensure that she was at least 16 years old, legal age of consent for group sex.

If Noah Corson testified to the effect that he was convinced that the victim was at least 18 years old, the public prosecutor affirmed, for his part, that he showed “recklessness” or “the willful blindness.
