Noah Corson, a former QMJHL player, guilty of sexual assault

Noah Corson, a former QMJHL player, was convicted of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16 in 2016.

In a decision dated Friday, Justice Paul Dunnigan of the Court of Quebec determined that Corson had not taken “all reasonable measures” to verify the age of the victim, who was 15 at the time .

She was attacked in Drummondville during group sex in which two other minors accused in this case participated.

The victim’s identity is protected by a publication ban.

Corson is the son of former Montreal Canadiens Shayne Corson. He was 18 years old at the time of the attack and was then playing with the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Noah Corson’s attorney, Jasmin Laperle, told reporters the judge failed to consider the credibility of the people who testified in the case.
