“All of our teams (in IT) were mobilized to restore the stability of our systems during these episodes of intermittent outages (Editor’s note: between 10 a.m. and noon, Monday and Tuesday) which prevented a certain number of private and business customers connect to their accounts,” said Jean-Benoît Turcotti, corporate spokesperson at Desjardins.
“In addition, what we can confirm at this time (Editor’s note: Tuesday, 1:30 p.m.) is that there has been no intrusion into our systems, while our teams are mobilized to see what happened. In the meantime, the assets and information of Desjardins member-clients are protected. »
Every day, according to information provided by Desjardins, some two million transactions are carried out on the Accès-D internet portal and its mobile application on wireless phones or electronic tablets by member-clients of the cooperative financial giant.
Also, each episode of a breakdown on Accès-D brings back bad memories of the huge leak of confidential data made public in June 2019, which affected 9.7 million Desjardins Group customer accounts.
