The bronze medal seems to have given him a taste for more. The day after his podium in the 50m freestyle, the Frenchman confided to the France Télévisions team on Saturday 3 August his desire to return to swimming in international competition in France. So, his sights are set on the 2026 European Championships in Paris (from 26 July to 9 August), organised at the Saint-Denis Aquatic Swimming Centre, which was built for these Olympic Games and which notably hosts diving, artistic swimming and the group stages of water polo.
Six-time European champion in the long course, including twice in the 50m freestyle (in Berlin in 2014 and London in 2016), the youngest of the Manaudous had already experienced an international competition at home before the Paris Games, the European short course in Chartres in 2012 with a sweep of five gold medals (one in the 50m freestyle and four in the relay).
The man who has stood on the podium in each of the last four Olympic 50m freestyle finals (gold in London, silver in Rio and Tokyo and bronze in Paris) also mentioned the short course World Championships in Budapest at the end of 2024 (from December 10 to 15), but not the long course World Championships in Singapore (from July 11 to August 3, 2025).
