He says to himself “upset” by what those affected by the floods are experiencing. “No resident will pay twice the deductible” insurance, promised Sunday January 7 on France 3 the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, in reference to the victims “of Pas-de-Calais or areas” already flooded in November. The minister specified that this “commitment” not to make these victims pay the deductible twice “has[vait] been taken by insurers”. “I made sure of it this week, I know that the insurers will keep their commitment”, he declared on the set of “Dimanche en politique”.

During a trip to Pas-de-Calais to see the damage from previous floods on November 20, the Minister of the Economy asked insurers not to “pinailler”, France Bleu Nord then reported. He also asked them to quickly make an advance to the victims and “not a handout”. This Sunday, Bruno Le Maire is satisfied. “The insurers did the job”he says.

The minister recalls that he made several commitments in November. “My first commitment when I went there was that 100% of the assessments would be done in the coming weeks. We are at 98%. The assessments are done”, he congratulates himself. Concerning the second commitment, “I said that compensation had to go very quickly”. Here too, Bruno Le Maire believes that the promise was kept because “as I speak to you, 50% of the November victims have been compensated”.
