No new deaths linked to COVID-19 in Quebec on Monday

Quebec does not deplore any new deaths linked to COVID-19 on Monday. The spread of the virus is under control, says the government.

Nearly 500 health care workers who were absent for reasons related to COVID-19 are back on duty. A total of 3,403 caregivers remain behind on Monday.

Hospitalization data is not counted on weekends. According to the latest figures made public by Quebec, there were 1,880 people in hospital due to COVID-19, including 49 in intensive care.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) reports that there have been 473 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. However, this figure is not considered representative, since access to screening centers is reserved for priority groups.

Some 163 rapid tests were self-reported for the day on Sunday, including 126 positive. The total stands at 282,107 self-reported rapid tests so far, including 236,271 positives.

The total number of deaths related to COVID-19 is 16,334.

On the vaccination side, 6,109 more doses were administered, for a total of nearly 20.7 million doses in Quebec.
