No freshness in sight

Hot and humid, even at night: temperatures will remain above seasonal norms this week in Quebec.

After a destructive passage in Jamaica, Hurricane Beryl is expected to hit the south of the province starting Wednesday evening.

The tropical storm could bring significant amounts of rain, but it shouldn’t be counted on to chase away the heat.

“There is no cool weather in sight for the next ten days,” says Antoine Petit, meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Temperatures will even be slightly above seasonal norms: between 35 and 37 degrees felt for the coming week.

It could also be more difficult to cool down, with nights also expected to be particularly hot and humid.

No record in sight, however: the forecasts are relatively “normal” for the month of July. “It’s far from exceptional,” emphasizes Antoine Petit.
