Joe Biden will not be worried. The special prosecutor responsible for investigating accusations of mismanagement of confidential documents by the American president decided Thursday February 8 not to recommend prosecution. Appointed in January 2023 by the American Minister of Justice Merrick Garland, special prosecutor Robert Hur concludes in his report that“an indictment would not be justified”describing Joe Biden as a “elderly man with a bad memory”.

Robert Hur’s investigation was launched after documents classified “top secret” were found in 2022 in Joe Biden’s residence in Delaware and in one of his former offices. According to the Washington Post, the case concerns less than twenty documents. They dated from the time when Joe Biden was Barack Obama’s vice president. The White House then pleaded “error” and talked about documents taken “inadvertently”.

In a statement released Thursday, the White House welcomed “the absence of prosecution” against Joe Biden, while deploring “inappropriate comments” from prosecutor Hur concerning the health of the head of state candidate for re-election.
